Testing, Testing.

When a new beauty product drops, equal doses of curiosity and caution hit me. On the one hand, I can brush off the hype that often comes with the latest ‘must-have’, rationalising with myself that my beauty stash is finely tuned and it’s just my gluttony kicking in but then, isn’t there always room for improvement?
I will forever be that doe-eyed girl at the makeup counter, out to snag a sample and see what all the fuss is about.

I’ve been trying out some new things lately and here’s what made the cut.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 4
This is what really got my tongue wagging, after hearing all the hype from the blogging community I had to try this out myself. I was colour matched to number 4, which the lady at the counter said has a yellow under-tone to it, fine by me but I had never before used any foundation in that tone before as I'm typically a solid 'neutral' so it was interesting to be matched to that, I'm always happy to try something new and I must say the colour blends into my skin and down my neck perfectly. The right balance of a light-weight texture with enough coverage to have one of those 'no make-up make-up days'.

Dior Addict Eau Delice Perfume
A beautiful scent that I can't describe, it's just really, really good. Fresh and fruity and sweet. It comes in a pretty bottle too, which always helps. I keep debating on whether to buy this, I'm going to have to make my mind up soon as it's a Summer edition fragrance I believe and we're almost in October, so...

YSL Le Touche Eclat Foundation in B50
Another foundation that got my attention. Though not technically a concealer, Touche Eclat highlighter pen was the first 'concealer' I ever used, my expensive taste started young, and I used it for years with no complaints and then I dabbled with high-street products and forgot all about YSL. I know I'm late on the bandwagon with this one, but the Touche Eclat foundation is pretty close to perfect. I find the colour to look quite dark and I'm always a little worried when I look at the little sample bottle in a morning, but it blends in really evenly and I find it covers a multitude of sins and I need less concealer which is fine by me.

Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash
This was a magazine freebie and quite a beefy one at that with the 50ml tube. I've tried Balance Me before but have never been overly fussed with the brand if I'm honest. Well, this face wash has really impressed me. I love the scent, it smells quite herbal and natural which I like, and it is of course a natural brand, always a plus! I find this face wash gives a really good, deep clean and I really enjoy using it in a morning and night. I'll be sad when this tube is empty, a purchase might be in order.

What have you been testing out?
